Putin, Hollande meet to discuss Syrian situation

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with his French counterpart Francois Hollande about participation regarding the situation in Syria. Hollande expressed his worry about the violence in Syria and the civilian situation and stressed the need for international intervention. He clarified that Syrian President Bashar Assad cannot remain in power.
Russia has claimed in the past that the Syrian nation must determine its own fate. (AFP)
