Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah met with top Iranian clerics on Wednesday together with the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon. Hezbollah's Al Manar TV released photos showing Narsrallah and the Iranians after reports said he was flown to Iran to receive cancer treatment last week. The report suggested the meeting took place in Lebanon.

Narsallah had denied the cancer rumors in a special address claiming they were part of a "media campaign" against him.

Refuting cancer rumors

On Wednesday he met with Ayatollah Mohsen Araki and the two discussed the "latest developments concerning the Islamic arena," the report said.

Last week the Hezbollah chief made a televised speech meant to refute reports suggesting he was gravely ill and receiving treatments in Iran.

Nasrallah said that he "Didn't wish to interrupt the viewers," and he only came on the air "To refute the rumors that were spread over the past two days, that have left a negative impression.

"I'm here, in the flesh, to tell you that these rumors are baseless," he asserted.
