Senior Egyptian military sources told the Palestinian news agency Ma'an that officers and other members of the central security agency abandoned security offices in all the cities in the northern Sinai Peninsula.
According to the sources, the officers abandoned their posts in solidarity with the protests in Egypt calling for the dismissal of Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim. (Roi Kais)
