The Lebanese newspaper As-Safir has published the latest proposal submitted by the Syrian regime to Russia for dialogue with the opposition. According to the report, the regime has agreed to hold talks without preconditions.
The proposal, which Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem reportedly presented to Moscow, says the regime in Damascus has agreed to hold early parliamentary elections, but the FM stressed the regime would not discuss President Bashar Assad's retirement before the end of his term next year.
