71.6% of IDF recruits in March ask to serve as fighters

Figures released by the IDF Personnel Directorate show that 71.6% of eligible recruits who will enlist with the army in the March 2013 combat draft starting Sunday asked to serve as fighters. About half of them asked to serve in one of the infantry brigades.

The IDF Spokesperson's Office says 97% of recruits will serve in one of the units they marked as their top three priorities. (Yoav Zitun)
