Barak: Israel strongest country in Middle East
Outgoing Defense Minister Ehud Barak said of the security situation that "we have very complicated challenges ahead of us. Iran is not disappearing, Syria is crumbling right before our eyes, and weapons transfers to Hezbollah can occur any day."
In a political-security review at the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Barak stressed that "Israel is clearly the strongest country in the Middle East. We don't expect there to be a force in the region able to attack the State of Israel with divisions and armored corps as we knew in previous decades." (Noam Dvir)
