Mega aliyah fairs attract thousands

Nefesh B’Nefesh conducts week of events in six major cities across North America, incorporating aliyah-related seminars and workshops, personal consultations for potential immigrants to Israel

Nefesh B’Nefesh conducted a week of aliyah mega events and fairs in six major cities across North America together with the Jewish Agency for Israel, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael, JNF-USA, and Israel’s Ministry of Immigrant Absorption.


The aliyah events, which took place in Toronto, Montreal, Baltimore, Washington, New York and in Florida, between March 3-10, incorporated aliyah-related seminars and workshops, as well as personal consultations with staff from all of the organizers.

Representatives from various Israeli ministries, health funds, shippers, the Jewish Agency for Israel and Nefesh B’Nefesh’s Go North and Go South programs were present.


Communications Minister, Moshe Kahlon, Israeli Consul-General in New York Ido Aharoni, Hadera Mayor Chaim Abitan; JNF CEO Russell Robinson, Deputy Chairmen of KKL Gael Grunwald and Menachem Leibovic and additional senior board members of KKL and JNF were amongst the guests of honor at the New York City event.


Participants enjoyed workshops and seminars on various topics, including careers in Israel, financial planning, taxes & budgeting, the Israeli healthcare system, navigating Israel’s education system, introduction to the aliyah process, aliyah rights and benefits and the ‘Go North’ and ‘Go South’ programs.


In addition, representatives of the Jewish Agency for Israel spoke about the process for verifying aliyah eligibility and the various programs the Agency offers to assist immigrants in their transition to Israeli life.


To date, Nefesh B’Nefesh has assisted over 33,000 olim and more than 50,000 North American and British Jews have attended Nefesh B'Nefesh pre-aliyah informational seminars throughout the US, Canada and UK, including specially tailored programs, events and individual counseling sessions.
