Mystery solved: Mayor’s car burned over parking tickets

The Central Unit of the Hof Sub-District Police solved the mystery of the arson of Hadera mayor Haim Avitan’s car, which took place during the Purim holiday. According to police, five suspects, among them a 17-year-old minor, committed the act in order to grow their reputations.
The five are also suspected of setting fire to Purim parade floats that were in municipal storage and committing acts of hooliganism. They set the fires in response to parking tickets they had received and issues centered on vendor businesses that they ran. Several suspects confessed and re-enacted the events. (Ahiya Raved)
