“We did our best with 31 mandates and kept the important portfolios. The important thing is we regained the defense portfolio and left behind the education portfolio," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said during opening statements at the Likud-Beiteinu faction meeting at the Knesset.
He added, “I worked to get a clear majority in the government, in order to ensure our policies.” Regarding the economy, Netanyahu added, “I want to say to incoming Finance Minister Yair Lapid that the first goal of the government is to pass a responsible budget, that will stand in the face of the unpredictable global economy.” (Moran Azulay)
