Report: Syrian rebels take control of Damascus' access routes

The Al Jazeera network reported Syrian rebels have taken over the eastern and western access routes to Damascus. A reporter for the network, reporting from inside the city, said that many residents have escaped.
It was further said that the international airport in the city was shut down due to fierce battles in the area. According to Al Jazeera, only Syrian air force aircraft are still using the facility. (Ynet)
