Kuwaiti daily Al-Seyassah reported this past weekend that Syrian opposition sources said that an intelligence officer that defected is offering to auction the intelligence archives of Syrian President Bashar Assad's brother-in-law, Assef Shawkat. No other source has confirmed this report.
Shawkat was killed last August in a terror attack in the heart of Damascus at the headquarters of Syria's national security bureau. According to the report, the archives include recordings, documents and films connected to Lebanese senior officials and are likely to cause a stir in the region. (Roi Kais)
