Pope Francis lauded for interfaith dialogue

Jewish leaders in Argentina are thrilled with the election of Pope Francis, whom they remember as a clergyman who always worked hard in their country to foster warm relations with other faiths.

Rabbi Alejandro Avruj noted Monday that as Buenos Aires archbishop, Jorge Mario Bergoglio opened the cathedral of the city to interfaith ceremonies. (AP)
