Nixon mocked Democrats for Jerusalem position

As Barack Obama arrives in Israel for his first trip there as president, a 1972 recording shows that President Richard Nixon complained of the Democrats' "dishonest" convention platform language _ in which they declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel.
On the previously unreported taped conversation, Nixon suggested Democratic military cuts would leave Israel vulnerable to military aggression. Israel had fought a war against its Arab neighbors five years earlier. (AP)
