Haniyeh: Obama visit perpetuates occupation

Hamas Prime Minister in the Gaza Strip Ismail Haniyeh released a press statement saying that United States President Barack Obama's visit to the region will not achieve a diplomatic breakthrough. According to him, the purpose of the visit is to perpetuate the Israeli occupation and give a seal of approval to the settlements.

Haniyeh also warned the Palestinian Authority that its future is dependent on its commitment to international principles and to inter-Palestinian reconciliation. Haniyeh also rejected the attempt to present Iran as the Arab world's enemy instead of Israel. (Roi Kais)
