Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he presented Israel with three conditions prior to its apology for the 2010 flotilla incident after he rejected an Israeli reconciliation proposal prior to the American presidential visit to the Middle East.
"Israel wanted to 'express regret,' but we insisted on the word 'apology,'" Erdogan was cited by the Huriyet news outlet. According to him, the additional two conditions were the lifting of the Gaza blockade and reparations for the flotilla's casualties' families. "We'll follow the issue to see whether Israel stands up to its promises," Erdogan added. (Ynet)
