Comptroller apologizes to predecessor for criticism

State Comptroller Joseph Shapira has apologized to his predecessor, Micha Lindenstrauss, in personal letter after leveling harsh criticism against him in an interview to Yedioth Ahronoth published this weekend. In the interview the comptroller criticized his predecessor's actions, including his intervention in the Marmara affair, and claimed that he had left "scorched earth" behind him after leaving the role.

 

In the letter to Lindenstrauss, Shapira wrote that he apologizes, and hold's Lindenstrauss's contribution to the Comptroller's office in high esteem. Lindenstrauss accepted his apology. (Aviel Mengazi)
