Hadar Shalgi. Died in hospital following head injury
An Israeli woman has been killed in a road accident in Spain, less than one month after her wedding.
Hadar Shalgi, 30, of Raanana, was walking on a street in Barcelona with her new husband last Saturday as two vehicles collided nearby. Shalgi, who was hit by one of the cars, died of her wounds on Thursday.

Racheli Aviram, who worked with Shalgi in the Nohar Productions company, said Friday: "She was on a short trip. She said they would go on their honeymoon at a later date. She was on a crowded street, and was taking pictures and posting them on Instagram. Then she apparently crossed the road at a pedestrian crossing, and was hit by a car involved in an accident."
Aviram said Shalgi had suffered from a head injury and was badly bruised. "We really hoped she would recover. She was hospitalized immediately and was in critical condition until yesterday. We prayed for her, and her father traveled to Barcelona – but she passed away yesterday.
"She was a member of our team of producers and we were like a second family to her. She was a flower, a joyful person, and managed a dance group. Singing and dancing was her life."
Only last week, Aviram said, Shalgi got to see US President Barack Obama during his visit to Israel. "We produced an even for the President's Residence, and when Obama got off the stage he said hello to her. Then she went on the trip – and didn't return."
