Police: Explosion in Northern Ireland, no injuries
None
Officials in Northern Ireland say a small bomb has exploded in the town of Lurgan, about 20 miles southwest of Belfast. There are no reports of injuries.
Northern Ireland Education Minister John O'Dowd, a member of the IRA-linked Sinn Fein party, says the explosion was caused by a bomb exploding in a garbage bin and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness condemned the "anti-peace extremists" behind the blast. Irish Republican Army dissidents have often tried to carry out attacks around Easter, which falls on Sunday. (AP)
