State official: Unaware of Turkish mediation in Palestinian talks
None
In response to a report of a possible Turkish involvement in the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations a senior member of the diplomatic-security echelon said: "We would very much like to improve relations with the Turks, but I'm not familiar with an option of their mediation (in the peace process)."
Officials in Jerusalem estimate that Turkey is interested, but since it displays a one-sided approach to the Palestinian issue it will not be a balanced mediator. (Attila Somfalvi)
