Students: Finance Ministry made ultimatum, either tuition or cuts

Despite Lapid's claims that reports of budget cuts to higher education were a spin, in a statement, the National Student Union stuck to their story: "In our meeting (Monday) with the ministry an ultimatum was made, either agree to a raise in tuition fees or the higher education system will face tough budget cuts."
"We call on the finance minster to hold a meeting with senior ministry officials and emphasize the importance of protecting students and keeping his promise that no budgetary cut would be made on higher education." (Shahar Chai)
