Jordan opens additional Syrian refugee camp
Jordan has opened an additional Syrian refugee camp in its country for those fleeing the civil war. The camp is being funded by the United Arab Emirates.
A Jordanian government representative said that the refugee camp is located 85 kilometers northeast of Amman and that it began receiving refugees on Wednesday. Jordanian authorities estimate that some one million Syrian refugees are currently residing in the Hashemite Kingdom. (AFP)
