Tunisian media report one person died and two were wounded as security forces battled with a band of religious conservatives who attacked police station in a coastal town.
The attackers, described by Al Watanya state television and radio stations as ultraconservative Muslims known as Salafis, attacked the police in Hergla near the city of Sousse late Thursday after one of their members was arrested as a suspect in an assault on a school principal. (AP)
