Egypt: Mubarak enters defendant cage, supports gather at courthouse

Former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak entered the courthouse in Cairo's police academy on a stretcher, as his retrial began. He was joined by his sons, Alaa and Gamal, and six of his former colleagues including former interior minister.
Mubarak waved to those present at the courthouse and Egyptian television said he seemed in good spirits. In the meanwhile dozens of his supporters and detractors crowded outside the courthouse waving signs expressing support or disdain for leader. (Roi Kais)
