Israeli intellectuals appeal to Palestinian hunger striker

A group of Israeli intellectuals turned in a letter to Palestinian prisoner Samer Issawi, who has been on hunger strike for over 230 days, in a call to stop the strike since "your act of suicide will add another element of tragedy and despair to the conflict between the two nations."
The letter is signed by authors and poets like A.B. Yehoshua, Amos Oz and more, who called upon him "not to add despair to the already existing despair. Give yourself hope and in this way, strengthen the hope amongst us all." (Elior Levy)
