"The journey to become a 'free nation in our land' has not ended. The wave of extremism surrounding us calls for a strong defensive force," said the commander of the Israel Air Force, Major General Amir Eshel, in a Memorial Day telegram to Air Force soldiers.
"We paid a heavy human price this year as well. The path of the fallen serves as a compass and decree for us. We must carry on with full force. We will not be silent until our friend Ron Arad returns from his mission and all the other missing (soldiers) return home," he said. (Yoav Zitun)
