President Shimon Peres took to social media to wish the people of Israel, the Jewish Diaspora and the "friends of the State of Israel" a happy Independence Day via a video recording.
"Today we celebrate the 65th birthday of the State of Israel. Those were 65 years of non-stop miracles. With no land, water or other natural resources, we built an extraordinary economy and an excellent scientific and technological community. Let's celebrate together and work toward further achievements, hoping to stay true to our values," Peres said. (Ynet)
