Peres to outstanding soldiers: Hope comes from home

"I am proud to open our national holiday by saluting the outstanding male and female soldiers," President Shimon Peres told 120 outstanding IDF soldiers at a ceremony in his official Jerusalem residence.

"The dangers come from the outside – from the mad Iranian regime, Hezbollah, which has turned religious spirit into a warehouse for missiles, and Hamas, which has turned the crowded Gaza Strip into a powder keg. Hope is created at home – by diligent workers, brave soldiers, and bold researchers. We won wars, and we will overcome terror," he said. (Noam Dvir)
