Haifa accident: Truck driver released to house arrest

The Haifa Magistrate's Court released to house arrest 30-year-old Jamal Abu Siam, the driver of the truck that was involved in the multiple-vehicle crash between Haifa and Nesher in northern Israel last week. The accident claimed the lives of six people.

Justice Yechiel Lifshitz ruled Abu Siam could not possibly obstruct the course of justice. However, his release was delayed by 24 hours after police chose to appeal the judge's decision. (Ahiya Raved)
