IDF: Helicopter crash caused by broken rotor
None
A broken tail rotor blade is said to be the cause of last month’s fatal helicopter crash, which killed two Air Force pilots, Lieutenant-Colonel Noam Ron, 49, and Major Erez Flekser, 31. The team investigating the incident presented intermediate findings to Air Force Commander Major-General Amir Eshel. It is still not clear what caused the break.
The IDF Spokesperson said that Cobra helicopters, which have been grounded since the crash, are expected to be returned to action next week. (Yoav Zitun)
