El Al CEO: Equal conditions for Israeli aviation

Eliezer Shkedi, the CEO of El Al, said that the government's decision to accept the "open skies" agreement denies Israeli airlines the ability to compete with their foreign counterparts. "The government failed to recognize the necessity of supporting a steadfast Israeli aviation that at times of emergency could serve as a direct aerial line of transportation to and fro Israel."
Shkedi further stressed that the Histadrut strike would continue and expressed hope that in the upcoming days "there will be those who come to their senses and work to promise equal conditions for Israeli aviation." (Shahar Chai)
