At approximately 7:30 pm, Stern, one of the few Knesset members who participated in the tour, was crossing the road with the group when a migrant blocked the road. Mayhem quickly ensued, and one of women in the group demanded that the man step away from the MK.

The man approached Stern's back, hit him in the head, threw away his yarmulke and stomped on it.
Police were called to the scene and arrested the migrant.
MK Stern said following the incident: "Incidents that the State of Israel would not tolerate anywhere else in the world are happening right here. If they were scattered around other neighborhoods in the country things would have been different."
