Lapid plan: Raise taxes by NIS 5 billion

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Yair Lapid held a prolonged meeting with the Budget Department. During the meeting, the finance officials presented Netanyahu with a plan to cut NIS 18 billion ($5 billion) in governmental expenses in the upcoming years.
According to the plan, the cut will be achieved by cutting NIS 4 Billion ($1.1 billion) from four primary areas: Security, child allowances, governmental worker salaries and infrastructure. It was also decided upon to increase State revenues from taxes at a scope of NIS 5 billion ($1.4 billion). (Avital Lahav)
