The Histadrut labor federation said the approval of the "open skies" deal was carried without holding a "serious discussion" on the issue. The statement came in a reply to Israel's Labor Court, which was summoned to probe the legality of the union's strike action in support of the airline workers.
"Taking decisions without negotiations and a collective agreement regarding the consequences of a decision means the workers are left without protection," read the union's reply to Labour Court. (Billie Frankel)
