Beer cost to rise

The Knesset Finance Committee retroactively ratified an order to raise sales tax on beer by a majority of four to nine.
The measure will see the tax on a liter of the beverage rise from NIS 2.15 ($0.59) to NIS 4.15 ($1.15), thus the cost of a single bottle containing 330 ml will rise by 66 agorot. (Zvi Lavi)
