HIV carrier rapes wife after she refuses to sleep with him

The Haifa District Court convicted a 40-year-old man of rape after he raped his wife several times over the last few years. The woman refused to have intercourse with him after it was found out he carries HIV, the AIDS virus.

The judges accepted the wife's version that her husband raped her at least three times, and rejected the man's claim that the sex was consensual and that the dispute was over contraception. (Ahiya Raved)
