State must explain route of security fence through Kfar Beitar
The High Court ordered the State to explain why it will not change the route of the security fence running through the village of Beitar, or alternatively change the shape of the fence. This decree was issued by a panel headed by Supreme Court President Asher Grunis. The State is required to address possibilities raised by the Nature and Parks Authority as an alternative to the fence.
The petition was filed by environmental groups and by village residents, claiming the fence route will endanger an ancient agricultural system in the same location. (Aviel Magnezi)
