About 40 firefighting teams are fighting a massive fire raging in a paper factory in Lod .Five firefighters have sustained light injuries from smoke inhalation and heat.

The firefighters are spraying water on a five-ton barrel of fuel oil in order to cool it down and prevent it from exploding.

In addition, firefighters are trying to stop the fire from spreading to nearby asbestos -madestructures, which could release harmful materials to the air if they catch fire.
Large police forces are also at the site, and a police helicopter is hovering over the factory and directing firefighters on the ground.
Fearing the fire spreading, security forces evacuated several nearby buildings.
