The US said Saturday that it was horrified by reports of a "massacre" committed on Thursday by forces of Syrian President Bashar Assad in Bayda, warning that "those responsible for violations of human rights will be held accountable."
"The United States is horrified by the terrible reports of more than 100 dead, killed May 2 in horrific attacks in the city of Bayda," wrote Jen Psaki, spokeswoman for the State Department, in a statement. Bayda is a Sunni village in northwestern Syria. (AFP)
