Austria: Opposed to lifting ban on arming Syrian rebels

The Austrian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Alexander Schallenberg met in Austria with Justice Minister Tzipi Livni and referred to the Syrian situation. Schallenberg said that Austria is opposed to lifting the embargo on European arming of the Syrian rebels.
The spokesperson denied any connection between the objection and the alleged Israeli attack in Syria. (AFP)
