Finance Minister Yair Lapid said at a Calcalist conference: "We are cutting back in places no one had dared touch before, and now the question is 'where to?' Where will the money go? The answer is that it will be spent on the working man."
According to Lapid, among other things, he intends to "use the money to build a railway to the northern city of Carmiel, renovate hospital wards and open up employment training centers." (Avital Lahav)
