White House: Israel has right to self-defense

White House Spokesperson Jay Carney said against the background of an alleged Israeli attack in Syria that Israel is justifiably concerned with transfer of sophisticated weapons to Hezbollah and has the right to defend itself.

Nevertheless, Carney stressed that the United States is unwilling to respond to the attacks attributed to Israel. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
