Finance Minister Yair Lapid referred to the budget proposal on his Facebook page, writing: "We knew it would be hard. The other option was no less than a collapse of the economy.
"This time we went places no one dared touch: Corporate tax, luxury products, Encouragement of Capital Investment Law, and sectors that were politically immune until now," said Lapid. He added: "We'll come out of it together and better than how we went in. The middle class is hurt in the short term, but the cutbacks are only a part of the overall plan." (Ynet)
