State Comptroller: Rate of converts to Judaism drops by 50%

The number of converts to Judaism in Israel has dropped by half in recent years, according to the State Comptroller's annual report.

The number plummeted from 8,000 in 2007 to 4,300 in 2011, despite the government's 2008 decision to work toward implementing more benevolent conversion procedures than those that are currently in place. (Kobi Nahshoni)
