Protesters try to break into Israeli embassy in Jordan

Published: 05.09.13, 08:58 / Israel News

Jordanian security forces dispersed dozens of protesters Wednesday night who had attempted to get close to the Israeli embassy and break in. The demonstration took place against the backdrop of the arrest of the Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, and what protesters called an “ongoing onslaught of Jewish settlers on the Al-Aqsa Mosque."

Wednesday, the Jordanian Parliament voted unanimously to expel Israel's ambassador to the kingdom, however, in Jerusalem they do not expect this to take place at the moment. (Elior Levy)
