Egypt: 10kg explosives found on cell planning bombing
Egyptian Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim said that one of the militants captured for planning to carry out a suicide attack against a foreign embassy in the country had been a member of al Qaeda in Algeria, and had travelled to Pakistan and Iran to receive training.
The arrested cell had been found in possession of statements issued by al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and 10 kg (22 pounds) of aluminium nitrate, which is used to make bombs, Ibrahim said. (Reuters)
