Housing minister secures NIS 80 million for Gush Katif evacuees

Housing Minister Uri Ariel (Habayit Hayehudi) said he raised NIS 80 million from the State budget for the construction of public buildings to accommodate Gush Katif evacuees, some eight years after the disengagement plan.
Sources within the Housing Ministry told Ynet the step, implemented as deep cuts are being made to the State budget, represents "state recognition of the need of the Gush Katif evacuees to leave mobile homes and settle into permanent housing." (Hila Tsion)
