Former Border Guard officer who shot friend gets 14 years

The Beersheba District Court sentenced a former Border Guard office convicted of killing his friend to 14 years in prison. Nir Somech was charged with murder but was ultimately convicted of manslaughter due to reasonable doubt.
According to the indictment, Somech shot Ben Tal to death in Kibbutz Zikim in 2009. The defense claimed Somech acted in self defense. (Ilana Curiel)
