New candidate announced for Haifa mayor

Dr. Etai Gilboa (50) announced yesterday that he intends to run for mayor of Haifa against Yona Yahav (Kadima), who has served as mayor for the past 10 years.
Gilboa, a former Labor Party member, has a Ph.D. in local government, and will head an independent list called New Haifa. Brigadier General (ret.) Nir Mariash, who served as chief of the Haifa police during the Second Lebanon War, is second on the list. (Ahiya Raved)
