Security guards to be barred from taking weapons home
Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch has decided that from August, security guards will no longer be allowed to take their firearms home with them at the end of the day.
It was also decided that those renewing their weapons license will have to provide valid reason for their ownership. "We must cut down the number of citizens unnecessarily armed, so that the horrible and tragic event that took place in Beersheba does not repeat itself," Aharonovitch said. (Omri Ephraim)
