Gay rights advocates rally in Georgia

Several hundred activists defending the rights of gays have rallied in the capital of ex-Soviet Georgia, separated by police from a few hundred anti-gay protesters.
Friday's rally in defense of gays' rights followed a demonstration a week ago, in which thousands of anti-gay protesters, including Orthodox priests, occupied a central street. Police failed to prevent them from engaging in clashes with gay activists, which resulted in 16 people getting injured. (AP)
